Hello every one.

In Romania there are 8 major ropeways built by the italian manufacturer Ceretti & Tanfani in the years '70. All of these 8 ropeways and other 75 km of instalations (50 chairlifts, 1 gondola ) were engineered by Mr. Ing. Petre Popa from Institutul Proiect Brasov.
The 8 major ropeways are:

Beeing so close to ground on the plateau means that during some harsh winters people have to dig through snow to make room for the cabin to pass.

On the plateau you cand find some wind sculptures like Babele rocks (The Old Ladies) and the romanian Sphynx. ( Bucegi mountains )

From Babele Chalet you can go hiking to The Heroes Cross or Caraiman's Cross situated on Caraiman Peak at 2291 m. ( Bucegi mountains )
