Warehouse-type buildings as stations, ZERO architecture

Zero fire safety standards.

As I see the manufacturers care less any of those European Standards (for example having the cable at least 20 meters above from buildings ceilings)

What we see here is that the building is extremely close with the cable and the cabin floor is in a reach of hand.

or

Having guaranteed at least 8 meters from gondola outer facade to building windows thus 24.6-meter wide corridor also for fire safety reasons.


Only good this with this particular line is long and high flyovers without tree cutting.

Tu es très sévère Siachoquero et je ne vois à quoi serve ce genre de critiques.
L'architecture c'est de l'argent et de toute les façons le style ou bien l'attente en Colombie n'est pas identique à ce que l'on voit en Asie, en Europe ou bien en Géorgie.
Il faut respecter tout le monde.

Au sujet de la "réglementation incendie" : je ne vois pas comment tu peux juger ce genre de choses. Il y'a de très nombreuses RM en Colombie et dans l'ensemble de l'Am. Sud et il n'y a pas plus d'accidents qu'ailleurs. Même moins. Les RM urbaines de nouvelles générations, dans ce pays, sont en services depuis 2004. Au niveau de 18 ou 19 heures d'exploitation par jour. Tout se passe bien.
Les dernières tragédie dans le domaine des RM ont eu lieu dans des pays avec de strictes réglementations (Italie, Rep- Tchéque). Bref.
Ensuite, le seul pays au monde où j'ai pu avoir peur niveau RM, niveau sécurité c'est bien en Géorgie, dans ton pays... Aussi bien sur neige, qu'en urbain. Donc bon... C'est peu utile de venir apporter une critique de ce style.

En tout cas, c'est plaisant de voir les deux nouveautés urbaines de l'année en Colombie sur RMnet !

Il est très intéressant et excitant de voir le développement du téléphérique dans une petite ville. Il est agréable qu'une partie du trajet traverse des terres non développées, ce qui rend le voyage magnifique. Bien que les mérites de l'encouragement de l'étalement des banlieues soient discutables, il me semble que cela reste une bien meilleure alternative à l'étalement centré sur la voiture ou même sur le bus.
It is very interesting and exciting to see cable car development come to a smaller city. It is nice that part of the route is through undeveloped land making for a beautiful trip. Although the merits of encouraging suburban sprawl is debatable, it seems to me that this a still a much better alternative to car-centric or even bus-centric sprawl.

Sorry I can"t respect bad architecture wherever it is.

I judge this tuff because there are standards and we design currently two upcoming lifts with this strict European standard and those standards are a must for financing organizations as well as for the consultant.

I don|t see any of those in Colombia or elsewhere in South America.

These is modern lifts from all the best suppliers so they need to at least be under some standards by I guess non of those regulations are valuable in South America.

I don't understand the relevance of this kind of comments full of fake informations. It looks like poor anti-ropeways lobbying.

Some countries like France, Russia, China, South Korea, don't follow European standards but their own. Does it make their ropeways unsafe ?

In Pereira, the height between cabins and rooftops is way bigger than 20 m, as we can easily check on pictures (tower 3 is 50 m high), apart from the singular point of crossing this Peugeot building where it is still more than 6 m. Have you been in close contact with the owner of this place to check if it is equiped with fire detection ? I guess not.

By the way, if you can jump more than 6 m high to touch cabins by hand, you should stop immediately your job and try a reconversion in basket-ball, plenty of NBA teams would be happy to welcome you 😉.

Regarding architecture, arguing style is a bit pointless but still : I find station 4 building a real piece of art, station 1 and 3 buildings rather nicely integrated in the urban surroundings, and I am amazed by station 2 unique technicity on civil works, with this impressive cantilever. Advised people can guess the huge job that it should have been to integrate this intermodal station in such a small space with big ground slope, between many roads. I can understand the green covering might surprise, but as it looks in line with the city official colour for flags, buses, cabins, it is ok.

What is not really beautiful is the mechanical parts covering. But it is simply a pragmatic choice from the city council. Logical in a country immune to hard climatical conditions like snow, whereas suffering a deep social crisis where every public money spent is scrutinized by citizens and criticized by political opponents.

To sum up, it is too easy to say bullshit when you don't know the context.

Il me semble que chacun a le droit d'exprimer son opinion. Ce n'est pas le premier sur ce forum à critiquer l'architecture d'une gare sans prendre en compte les contraintes environnementales et autres. Il y a l'exemple sur un autre post concernant l'intégration de la gare à la cime Carron qui a bien été critiquée sans que personne n'y trouve rien à redire.

When you say the lift is not fire safe that is fake information.

When you imply corruption on a project you do not know that is fake information.

If you had a bit of knowledge of the standards, you would have known that 20 m vertical distance can be reduced when a lift has fire rescue mode and overflown places are equiped with fire detection devices. It may surprise you but there are hundreds of lifts in Europe flying over buildings or forests with less than 20 m distance.

The fact that you dislike art buildings or green colour does not mean that is bad architecture that the rest of the world should dislike it too.

When a 500k inhabitants municipality has a 30 millions $ budget for its cable car, guess what ? It makes it cheaper than cable cars built by 20M inhabitants municipalities like Mexico with 200 millions $ budget. So yes, money is not falling from the sky, and they have to take wise decisions accordingly.
